Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support to state employees, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
- Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer workstations, printers, and peripherals.
- Manage IT asset inventory, including logging equipment, tracking repairs, and ensuring compliance with state policies.
- Respond to and resolve helpdesk tickets in a timely and professional manner using the state's ticketing system.
- Conduct basic cybersecurity awareness training and ensure users adhere to data protection protocols.
- Collaborate with the full-time IT team to implement software updates and security patches during off-peak hours.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree in Information Technology or related field is preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in technical support, IT helpdesk, or a related administrative role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Strong understanding of computer hardware components and common peripherals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time effectively.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States and pass a background check required for state employment.
