Responsibilities
- Review and evaluate pension eligibility documents for federal retirees, ensuring strict adherence to Department of Labor guidelines.
- Process pension benefit claims and updates with high accuracy and minimal error rates.
- Communicate complex pension plan details and settlement figures to clients via phone and email in a clear, empathetic, and professional manner.
- Maintain comprehensive, confidential electronic records for all active and closed cases within the CRM system.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly reports and reconciliation of pension disbursement data.
- Collaborate with the compliance team to ensure all federal pension regulations are up to date and correctly applied.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Finance, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience in pension administration, benefits management, or a related financial support role.
- Strong working knowledge of the Federal Employee Retirement System (FERS) and Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) is highly desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to spot discrepancies in data quickly.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and case management software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive inquiries with discretion.
