Responsibilities
- Review and process pension benefit applications and claims with a high degree of accuracy and compliance.
- Conduct data entry and maintain up-to-date records in state pension management systems.
- Communicate complex pension calculations and regulations to retirees and stakeholders in a clear, professional manner.
- Ensure strict adherence to federal, state, and local government financial regulations and policies.
- Assist in the resolution of inquiries regarding retirement accounts and payroll discrepancies.
- Collaborate with other government agencies to verify beneficiary information and resolve outstanding issues.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Public Administration preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in pension administration, government customer service, or financial data processing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel for data analysis and Word for documentation.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to detect errors.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively within a part-time capacity.
