Responsibilities
- Process and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls using CAD/RMS systems
- Dispatch police units and resources with precision and urgency
- Maintain accurate radio communications during critical incidents
- Enter and update confidential case information in real-time
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during disasters or high-priority events
- Operate specialized equipment including 9-1-1 systems and mapping tools
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to callers
- Complete detailed incident documentation and reports
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Clear criminal background check and passing drug screen
- Minimum typing speed of 35 WPM with 90% accuracy
- Ability to pass multi-tasking and situational judgment tests
- Strong written/verbal communication skills
- Experience with computer-aided dispatch systems preferred
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Citizen of the United States or authorized to work permanently
