Responsibilities
- Analyze legislative proposals and regulatory impacts using quantitative/qualitative methods
- Prepare concise policy briefs for state legislators and agency leadership
- Coordinate with stakeholders across federal, state, and local jurisdictions
- Track and evaluate program performance metrics using government databases
- Support public hearings and community outreach initiatives
- Maintain compliance with NY State Freedom of Information Law (FOIL)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, or related field
- 2+ years experience in government or nonprofit policy research
- Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau/Power BI)
- Familiarity with NY State budget processes and legislative tracking systems
- Strong written communication with ability to synthesize complex information
- Active security clearance or ability to obtain one
- Valid NY State driver's license (travel required)
