Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance of public infrastructure including sidewalks, curbs, and drainage systems
- Operate light machinery (sweepers, compactors) and hand tools safely and efficiently
- Assist in park maintenance including landscaping, irrigation, and facility upkeep
- Support street sweeping operations and litter control throughout the city
- Participate in storm drain maintenance and flood prevention initiatives
- Follow all OSHA safety protocols and proper waste disposal procedures
- Document work activities and maintain equipment logs accurately
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid California Driver's License with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in outdoor conditions
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and light equipment operation
- Commitment to workplace safety and compliance with municipal regulations
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in diverse teams
- Flexibility to work variable shifts including weekends as needed
