Responsibilities
- Assist in the maintenance, repair, and cleaning of city streets, sidewalks, and public spaces.
- Operate light equipment and machinery, including sweepers, jackhammers, and loaders, under strict supervision.
- Perform snow and ice removal operations during winter months to ensure public safety.
- Remove graffiti and perform general landscaping duties to enhance the city’s aesthetic appeal.
- Monitor and clear storm drains and catch basins to prevent flooding.
- Support the Public Works department during emergencies and special events.
- Adhere to all OSHA safety regulations and departmental protocols at all times.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Valid Driver’s License (Class C) with a clean driving record.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools is a plus.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Reliable transportation to and from the job site.
- Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
