Responsibilities
- Operate light machinery (street sweepers, forklifts, snow plows) with proper safety protocols
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and landscape maintenance
- Assist in road repair, sidewalk installation, and storm drain maintenance
- Conduct routine inspections of public infrastructure and report hazards
- Maintain clean and organized work sites following OSHA standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on capital improvement projects
- Participate in emergency response during severe weather events
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Nebraska driver's license with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical labor in varying weather
- Basic mechanical aptitude and equipment operation experience preferred
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Nebraska residency required for some specialized roles
