Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including digging, paving, and debris removal for city projects
- Operate light equipment (e.g., jackhammers, saws, sweepers) under supervision
- Assist in road maintenance, park upkeep, and facility repairs
- Follow strict safety protocols and OSHA compliance standards
- Collaborate with crews on daily project goals and timelines
- Report maintenance issues and complete accurate work documentation
- Participate in emergency response operations during severe weather events
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Tennessee driver's license with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety practices
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Previous public works or construction experience preferred
