Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor in street repairs, sidewalk maintenance, and park beautification projects
- Operate light equipment (e.g., jackhammers, pressure washers, small dump trucks) under supervision
- Assist in traffic control and safety zone setup for public works activities
- Participate in seasonal tasks like snow removal, storm drain clearing, and vegetation management
- Maintain clean and organized work sites following OSHA and city protocols
- Support recycling initiatives and waste management programs across Baltimore neighborhoods
- Document work progress and equipment usage using digital reporting tools
Qualifications
- Valid Maryland driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in outdoor environments
- Basic knowledge of construction safety standards and PPE usage
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- Ability to work flexible shifts including early mornings, weekends, and weather emergencies
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Preferred: 6 months construction/maintenance experience or vocational training
- Must pass background check for municipal employment
