Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including street sweeping, park maintenance, and debris removal
- Operate light machinery (sweepers, mowers) with proper safety protocols
- Assist in seasonal infrastructure projects (sidewalk repairs, drainage clearing)
- Conduct routine inspections of public spaces and report hazards
- Support emergency response efforts during weather events
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and basic preventative maintenance
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on city initiatives
Qualifications
- Valid Pennsylvania driver's license with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical labor in all weather conditions
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment operation
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Pittsburgh residency preferred
