Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Maintenance: Assist with the maintenance, repair, and cleaning of streets, sidewalks, alleys, and public parks.
- Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain basic heavy and light equipment, including jackhammers, rollers, and dump trucks, under supervision.
- Snow & Ice Removal: Assist in snow and ice removal operations during inclement weather to ensure public safety and accessibility.
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment to and from work sites.
- Site Preparation: Prepare construction sites by digging trenches, clearing debris, and leveling ground as directed by supervisors.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all OSHA safety regulations, traffic control procedures, and company policies at all times.
- Community Interaction: Interact courteously with the public and other city employees.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- License: Valid Missouri Class C Driverβs License required.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform strenuous physical labor, including lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and working in various weather conditions.
- Experience: Previous experience in construction, landscaping, or municipal public works is preferred but not mandatory.
- Skills: Basic knowledge of hand and power tools; ability to read basic instructions and safety signs.
- Availability: Must be available for varying shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Reliability: A strong work ethic, punctuality, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
