Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair streets, sidewalks, and alleys using hand tools and power equipment.
- Clear snow and ice from public roadways, sidewalks, and ramps during winter storms.
- Inspect and maintain drainage systems, including catch basins, culverts, and ditches to prevent flooding.
- Assist in the installation and repair of traffic control devices and signs.
- Perform landscaping duties, including mowing, trimming, and planting in public parks and rights-of-way.
- Load and unload construction materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid Washington State Driverβs License (Class C) with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, rain, and cold.
- Physical stamina to perform heavy lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Basic math skills for measurements and inventory counts.
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Previous experience in construction, landscaping, or public works is a plus but not required.
