Responsibilities
- Manage and organize both physical and electronic filing systems to ensure efficient retrieval of records.
- Retrieve and distribute public records in response to inquiries while strictly adhering to state privacy laws and confidentiality protocols.
- Perform accurate data entry and document imaging using the county’s digital records management software.
- Assist the Records Department with special projects, including archival projects and database maintenance.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional workspace for staff and visitors.
- Communicate effectively with department heads, attorneys, and the general public regarding record requests.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required; an Associate’s degree in Business Administration or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in a clerical, records management, or administrative role is highly desirable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn proprietary database software quickly.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced government environment.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest level of discretion and integrity.
