Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, baggage, and cargo using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and other screening equipment to identify prohibited items.
- Perform comprehensive pat-down searches of individuals and property as necessary to ensure security compliance.
- Verify identity documents and ensure passengers have proper authorization to travel.
- Respond to security alerts and coordinate with law enforcement officials when necessary.
- Maintain a high level of situational awareness and adhere to all TSA security protocols and procedures.
- Document screening results accurately and maintain a clean, organized screening station.
- Assist in the training and mentorship of new hires as required.
Qualifications
- United States Citizenship is required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate.
- Ability to pass a federal background investigation, including fingerprinting and drug screening.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TSA Transportation Security Clearance.
- Must be able to perform light to moderate physical exertion, including standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to make quick, sound decisions under pressure.
