Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough analysis of member accounts to calculate accurate pension benefits and projections.
- Interpret and apply complex state retirement laws and regulations to ensure full compliance.
- Provide detailed guidance and customer service to current and prospective retirees regarding their pension options.
- Review and process documentation for retirement applications, appeals, and benefit adjustments.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve pension plan processes and operational efficiency.
- Prepare accurate reports and data for audits, legislative reviews, and state oversight committees.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pension administration, actuarial science, or public sector human resources.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel (advanced functions and pivot tables).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with the utmost confidentiality and integrity.
