Responsibilities
- Manage and calculate pension benefits for federal retirees with precision and adherence to federal regulations.
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of employee records to ensure eligibility and compliance with ERISA and government policies.
- Provide expert guidance and support to employees regarding retirement planning, survivor benefits, and health insurance options.
- Prepare and analyze monthly pension reports to identify discrepancies and recommend process improvements.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure all pension plans remain up-to-date with changing legislation.
- Respond to inquiries from retirees and internal stakeholders regarding benefit claims and status updates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in pension administration, benefits management, or a related role within the public sector or large government organization.
- Strong working knowledge of ERISA, FERS, and other federal retirement systems.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, including complex formulas and data analysis.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive financial data with confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly.
