Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day administration of state pension plans, ensuring accurate data entry and reporting.
- Analyze actuarial data and financial trends to recommend strategic adjustments to pension fund strategies.
- Ensure full compliance with ERISA, CalPERS regulations, and state government financial statutes.
- Conduct regular audits of pension records to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Communicate complex pension benefit information to stakeholders, retirees, and government officials.
- Collaborate with external actuaries and investment firms to review funding status and asset allocation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in pension administration, actuarial analysis, or government financial management.
- Professional certification such as ASA, FSA, CFA, or CPA is highly desirable.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERISA compliance software.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial reports and legislation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
