Responsibilities
- Administer and process pension applications, calculations, and disbursements accurately and in compliance with state regulations.
- Analyze actuarial data and employee contributions to determine eligibility and benefit entitlements.
- Provide exceptional customer service to retirees and active employees regarding retirement plan inquiries and concerns.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive financial and personal data in accordance with privacy laws.
- Collaborate with the HR department and external auditors to ensure all pension records are up-to-date and compliant.
- Conduct training sessions for new employees on pension plan enrollment and contribution processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in benefits administration, actuarial science, or pension management.
- Strong knowledge of ERISA (Employee Retirement Income Security Act) and Texas State Government regulations.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel functions.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced government environment.
