Responsibilities
- Manage pension fund disbursements, eligibility verifications, and participant inquiries
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and Texas state pension laws
- Oversee retirement plan documentation, including benefit calculations and distribution schedules
- Collaborate with auditors for annual compliance reviews and financial reporting
- Develop educational materials and workshops for pre-retirement planning
- Maintain accurate participant records using pension administration software
- Coordinate with HR departments and external vendors for seamless benefit transitions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension plan administration experience in public/government sector
- Proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Empower)
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(a), and Texas pension regulations
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or Certified Retirement Administrator (CRA) preferred
- Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
