Responsibilities
- Administer and monitor defined benefit pension plans for municipal employees
- Ensure compliance with federal and state pension regulations (ERISA, TRS)
- Manage investment portfolios and perform actuarial valuations
- Process retiree benefit applications and distribution calculations
- Develop financial reports for city council and regulatory bodies
- Collaborate with auditors during annual compliance reviews
- Train employees on retirement planning options
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 3+ years of pension plan administration experience
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) designation preferred
- Proficiency in pension software (e.g., Millennium, Albridge)
- Strong knowledge of ERISA and Texas pension laws
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to obtain security clearance
