Responsibilities
- Manage and process pension benefit inquiries and claims with high accuracy and efficiency.
- Provide detailed support to state employees and retirees regarding pension plan eligibility and distribution.
- Execute weekend shift operations to ensure continuous service coverage for the pension department.
- Maintain and update employee pension records in state databases and HRIS systems.
- Assist in resolving complex discrepancies in pension calculations and payroll data.
- Ensure strict adherence to state regulations, privacy laws, and internal compliance policies.
- Collaborate with the finance and HR teams to streamline pension processing workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in pension administration, government benefits, or human resources.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and state-specific HR software.
- Ability to work rotating weekend shifts and adapt to changing priorities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with the public.
- Knowledge of Indiana state government policies and regulations is a plus.
