Responsibilities
- Process incoming 911 and non-emergency calls with speed and accuracy
- Operate radio communication systems to dispatch police, fire, and EMS units
- Maintain detailed incident logs and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) records
- Provide clear instructions to callers during emergency situations
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Utilize mapping software to determine optimal unit deployment
- Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols and HIPAA compliance
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Valid New Jersey driver's license
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 90% accuracy
- Pass comprehensive background investigation and polygraph examination
- Successfully complete medical and psychological evaluations
- Ability to remain calm under extreme pressure
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer systems
- Fluency in English (bilingual Spanish a significant plus)
