Responsibilities
- Answer and prioritize emergency/non-emergency 911 calls with speed and accuracy
- Dispatch police units and emergency services using CAD systems
- Provide critical information to first responders during active incidents
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and activities
- Operate multi-channel radio systems and specialized communication equipment
- Remain calm under pressure during high-stress emergency situations
- Adhere to all protocols and confidentiality standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Ability to pass NC Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) certification
- Valid NC driver's license with clean driving record
- Minimum 40 WPM typing proficiency
- Excellent communication and multi-tasking abilities
- Ability to pass extensive background check and drug screening
- Experience with computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems preferred
- Must be available for rotating shifts (nights, weekends, holidays)
