Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and business lines
- Dispatch police units using CAD/RMS systems with precision and speed
- Provide critical pre-arrival instructions to callers during emergencies
- Maintain detailed incident logs and documentation
- Coordinate with multi-agency responders (fire, EMS) during critical incidents
- Operate radio systems and specialized emergency communication equipment
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 40 WPM typing certificate (required within 30 days)
- US citizenship and valid CA driver's license
- Clear background check and fingerprint submission
- Ability to multitask in high-stress environments
- Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Fluency in English (Spanish bilingual preferred)
- Pass written and oral examinations
