Responsibilities
- Answer emergency/non-emergency calls and dispatch appropriate police/fire/EMS units
- Operate computer-aided dispatch (CAD) and radio communication systems
- Remain calm under pressure while gathering critical information from callers
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation of all communications
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols and HIPAA guidelines
- Participate in ongoing training to enhance emergency response skills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Must pass background check and polygraph examination
- Basic computer literacy and typing proficiency (40+ WPM preferred)
- Ability to multitask in high-stress environments
- Clear verbal communication skills in English (bilingual a plus)
- Must be 18+ years old and a U.S. citizen
- No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/holidays
