Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Dispatch police officers, fire, and medical units using CAD/RMS systems
- Provide critical information to first responders during active incidents
- Maintain accurate logs of all communications and activities
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during large-scale emergencies
- Remain calm under pressure while managing high-call-volume situations
- Perform data entry and administrative tasks related to dispatch operations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Proficient computer skills and typing ability (40+ WPM)
- Clear communication skills in English and Spanish (bilingual preferred)
- Ability to multitask and make quick decisions in high-stress environments
- Must be 18+ years old and a U.S. citizen
- Valid Texas driver's license with acceptable driving record
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanor offenses
