Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Dispatch police units using CAD systems with precision and urgency
- Maintain accurate logs and incident documentation
- Coordinate with multiple agencies during critical incidents
- Provide clear instructions to callers during emergency situations
- Operate radio equipment and multi-line telephone systems
- Adhere to department protocols and confidentiality standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Excellent communication and multitasking skills
- Basic computer proficiency with willingness to learn CAD systems
- Ability to remain calm under high-pressure situations
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM
- Valid Louisiana driver's license
- Must be 18+ years old and a US citizen
