Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with speed and accuracy
- Dispatch police units using CAD systems and radio communications
- Maintain detailed call logs and incident documentation
- Coordinate with multiple agencies during critical incidents
- Provide life-saving instructions to callers during emergencies
- Operate multi-channel communication equipment efficiently
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and procedural standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Must be 18+ years old and pass background check
- Valid Texas Driver's License or obtain within 30 days
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to multitask in high-stress environments
- Clear verbal communication in English and Spanish preferred
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanors
- Successfully complete department training program
