Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with speed and accuracy
- Dispatch police, fire, and medical personnel using CAD systems
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and activities
- Provide clear, concise instructions to callers during emergencies
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Operate radio equipment and computer-aided dispatch systems
- Complete comprehensive training programs on department protocols
- Adhere to all confidentiality and privacy regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass background investigation and polygraph examination
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask in high-pressure situations
- Basic computer proficiency with typing minimum 40 WPM
- Valid California driver's license
- U.S. citizenship or legal resident status
- No felony convictions and clean driving record
