Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls for police, fire, and medical services
- Operate radio communication systems to dispatch officers and first responders
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation
- Provide critical information to officers and other agencies during emergencies
- Utilize CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) systems efficiently
- Remain calm under pressure while handling high-stress situations
- Collaborate with multi-agency responders during critical incidents
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- No prior dispatch or law enforcement experience necessary
- Ability to type 35+ WPM (testing provided)
- Strong communication and active listening skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize information effectively
- Must pass background check and drug screening
- Valid Hawaii driver's license required
- US citizenship or legal residency status
