Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls using CAD systems with precision
- Dispatch police officers and emergency services to incidents with accurate location details
- Maintain radio communication with field units during critical situations
- Enter/update incident data in law enforcement databases with strict confidentiality
- Provide crisis intervention and pre-arrival medical instructions to callers
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during major incidents
- Train on departmental policies and procedures under supervision
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM (verified by test)
- Valid California driver's license with clean record
- Ability to pass extensive background check and polygraph examination
- US citizenship or legal resident status
- No felony convictions and excellent moral character
- Proficient in multitasking and decision-making under stress
- Strong active listening and verbal communication skills
