Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency (911) and non-emergency calls from the public with speed and accuracy.
- Dispatch police, fire, and emergency medical services to incident locations based on operator information.
- Maintain accurate, detailed logs and records of all calls, incidents, and unit activities.
- Monitor and coordinate emergency radio traffic and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems in real-time.
- Provide information and assistance to citizens regarding police, fire, and municipal services.
- Perform data entry and document management tasks while maintaining high attention to detail.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid California Driverβs License and a satisfactory driving record.
- Excellent typing skills (minimum 35 WPM) and proficiency in computer applications.
- Ability to remain calm, think critically, and make quick, accurate decisions under pressure.
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are highly preferred.
