Responsibilities
- Receive, prioritize, and dispatch emergency calls for police, fire, and medical services
- Maintain accurate and detailed logs of all communications and incidents
- Operate radio systems, computer-aided dispatch (CAD), and emergency notification platforms
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers during critical situations
- Coordinate with multiple agencies during emergencies and disaster scenarios
- Monitor surveillance systems and alarm activations
- Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols and departmental procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Basic computer literacy and typing proficiency (minimum 35 WPM)
- Exceptional communication skills with clear diction and active listening
- Ability to remain calm under extreme pressure and make critical decisions
- Valid Texas driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanor offenses
