Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls with professionalism and empathy
- Dispatch appropriate police/fire/EMS units using CAD systems
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers during medical emergencies
- Monitor multiple radio channels while maintaining situational awareness
- Enter and update critical information in real-time databases
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during major incidents
- Maintain accurate call logs and documentation
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Ability to pass comprehensive background investigation
- Proficient in typing (minimum 35 WPM)
- Fluent in English (bilingual Spanish preferred)
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/holidays
- Pass pre-employment physical and psychological evaluation
