Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls using CAD/RMS systems
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units with precise location and incident details
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation
- Provide critical information to field units during ongoing operations
- Operate radio equipment, multi-line phones, and emergency alert systems
- Coordinate with other agencies during multi-jurisdictional incidents
- Complete 12-week academy training on dispatch protocols and procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Pass background investigation and polygraph examination
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to multitask in high-stress environments
- Valid California driver's license
- U.S. citizenship or legal residency status
- No felony convictions and clean driving record
