Responsibilities
- Receive, prioritize, and dispatch emergency/non-emergency calls for police, fire, and medical services
- Operate computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems and radio equipment with precision
- Provide clear, concise instructions to callers and field units during critical incidents
- Maintain accurate records of all communications and activities in compliance with protocols
- Monitor multiple channels simultaneously and make rapid decisions under pressure
- Collaborate with cross-agency personnel during multi-jurisdictional emergencies
- Participate in continuous training to maintain proficiency in evolving technologies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Exceptional communication and active listening skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn specialized software quickly
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- No felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions involving dishonesty
- Pennsylvania driver's license with good standing
