Responsibilities
- Process 911 and non-emergency calls with speed and accuracy
- Dispatch police officers, fire, and medical units during emergencies
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and incidents
- Operate radio systems, computer-aided dispatch (CAD), and mapping tools
- Provide critical information to officers in the field and coordinate resources
- Remain calm and composed during high-stress, life-threatening situations
- Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols and privacy regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework preferred
- Minimum 18 years of age and U.S. citizenship
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Exceptional communication and multitasking skills
- Proficiency with computer systems and willingness to learn specialized software
- No felony convictions and clean driving record
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
