Responsibilities
- Process 911 and non-emergency calls with precision and compassion
- Operate CAD/RMS systems to dispatch police, fire, and medical units
- Maintain accurate radio communications during emergency incidents
- Perform multi-tasking under pressure while documenting critical information
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support to callers
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during critical incidents
- Complete all phases of the dispatcher training program successfully
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 18 years of age at time of application
- Valid California driver's license
- Pass extensive background investigation and polygraph examination
- Clear typing test of 35+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to pass hearing and vision tests
- U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanors
