Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls from the public and other agencies
- Dispatch police units and emergency services efficiently using CAD systems
- Maintain detailed records of all communications and actions taken
- Operate radio, telephone, and computer equipment during high-stress scenarios
- Provide critical information and instructions to callers and field units
- Collaborate with multi-agency responders during emergency incidents
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and departmental protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- U.S. citizenship and minimum age of 18
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure
- Basic computer proficiency and typing skills (30+ WPM preferred)
- Pass background check, drug screen, and psychological evaluation
