Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls using CAD systems
- Dispatch police units and coordinate resources during critical incidents
- Maintain accurate radio logs and incident documentation
- Provide crisis intervention and calming guidance to callers
- Operate multi-channel communication systems and specialized equipment
- Collaborate with allied agencies during multi-jurisdictional responses
- Participate in scenario-based training to enhance emergency response proficiency
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college preferred)
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Ability to pass background check and polygraph examination
- Basic computer proficiency with willingness to learn specialized systems
