Responsibilities
- Answer and prioritize incoming emergency and non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Dispatch police officers, fire, and EMS units using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain detailed records of all communications and incidents
- Provide clear, concise instructions to callers during emergency situations
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Operate radio equipment and computer-aided dispatch systems
- Remain calm under pressure while managing high-stress scenarios
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Proficient computer skills with ability to learn specialized software
- Exceptional communication and active listening abilities
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM
- Must be a U.S. citizen and meet residency requirements
