Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with speed and accuracy
- Operate multi-line telephone systems and radio equipment
- Dispatch police units using CAD systems and maintain detailed logs
- Remain calm during critical incidents and provide clear instructions to callers
- Coordinate with other agencies (fire, EMS) during multi-agency responses
- Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols and HIPAA compliance
- Participate in ongoing training to maintain certification
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- US citizenship and valid Ohio driver's license
- Ability to pass background check, polygraph, and drug screening
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with high accuracy
- Exceptional communication and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- No felony convictions and clean driving record
- Basic computer literacy and willingness to learn specialized systems
