Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with accuracy and urgency
- Operate radio systems to coordinate police, fire, and medical responses
- Maintain detailed records of all communications and incidents
- Provide critical information to officers and first responders
- Remain calm and professional during high-stress situations
- Utilize CAD systems for efficient dispatching and tracking
- Collaborate with cross-agency partners during multi-jurisdictional incidents
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- No experience required – training provided
- Ability to type 40+ WPM (tested during hiring process)
- Clear speaking voice with excellent communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in dynamic environments
- Must pass background check and drug screening
- Valid California driver's license
