Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines, walk-through metal detectors, and other security screening equipment to detect prohibited items
- Conduct physical screenings of passengers and baggage including pat-downs and bag searches
- Verify passenger identification and travel documents to ensure compliance with TSA regulations
- Respond to security alerts and emergency situations following established protocols
- Maintain accurate documentation of security incidents and screening activities
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel to ensure seamless security operations
- Provide exceptional customer service while enforcing security procedures
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TSA security clearance
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and medical evaluation
- Proficient in English with strong communication skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn specialized screening equipment
- Must pass TSA's pre-employment assessment and training program
