Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls with extreme speed, accuracy, and professional demeanor.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to incidents using the CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) system.
- Maintain precise, real-time records of all calls, dispatches, and officer activities in the database.
- Provide critical, up-to-the-minute information to field units to ensure officer and civilian safety.
- Communicate effectively via radio, telephone, and computer with field personnel, other agencies, and the general public.
- Monitor police frequencies and department equipment to identify trends and respond to alerts.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Valid California Class C Driver's License and a clean driving record.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to speak clearly and concisely.
- Ability to remain calm, composed, and focused under intense pressure and rapidly changing circumstances.
- Willingness to undergo a thorough background investigation, drug screening, and medical examination.
- Proficiency with computers and data entry is highly preferred.
