Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls with professionalism and empathy
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units efficiently using CAD systems
- Maintain accurate incident logs and communication records
- Operate radio equipment and multi-line telephone systems
- Coordinate resources during critical incidents and disasters
- Provide clear instructions to callers and first responders
- Complete mandatory training modules remotely and in-person
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM verified by test
- Strong communication and active listening skills
- Ability to remain calm under high-pressure situations
- Basic computer proficiency and tech adaptability
- Pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Valid Louisiana driver's license
