Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and business lines
- Dispatch police units using CAD systems with precise location details
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Maintain accurate radio communication with field units
- Enter/update incident data in RMS databases
- Coordinate with other emergency agencies (Fire, EMS)
- Adhere to department policies during high-stress situations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- US citizenship or legal resident status
- Clear criminal background check
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (verified)
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced environments
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Pass pre-employment psychological evaluation
- Valid California Driver's License
