As a Police Dispatcher Trainee, you will play a critical role in the emergency response system. You will serve as the vital link between the public and law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services. What You Will Do:
- Receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls for service.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical personnel to appropriate locations.
- Maintain accurate radio logs and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) records.
- Provide real-time information and updates to field units and officers.
- Assist in the training of new dispatch personnel during the trainee program.
- Monitor the status of units and coordinate resources during critical incidents.

Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or eligible for citizenship.
- Valid Michigan driver's license with a good driving record.
- Excellent typing and computer skills (minimum 30 wpm).
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and in emergency situations.
- Pass a comprehensive background investigation, medical exam, and psychological evaluation.
