Responsibilities
- Receive and process incoming emergency and non-emergency calls with speed and accuracy.
- Operate Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems to input and update incident details.
- Monitor radio frequencies to maintain contact with law enforcement, fire, and EMS units in the field.
- Dispatch appropriate units to the scene of incidents based on priority and availability.
- Provide information and assistance to the public during emergencies.
- Ensure accurate logging of all communications and activities.
- Maintain a professional demeanor while managing high-stress situations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, holidays, weekends, and overtime as required.
- Strong typing skills (minimum 35-40 WPM).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
